Having started at Smallish as editorial assistant, I have worked my way up to senior staff writer in a little over a year. I work across the entire magazine, researching, commissioning and writing the regular feature pages as well as writing features. I also create original content for the Smallish's digital output, successfully incorporating SEO into the process. I contribute to the planning of each issue, with my ideas regularly forming the basis for content. I research items; source products; liaise with PRs, designers, contributors and sub editors; I commission contributors; write the regular monthly features; edit; proofread and manage the work flow for the team for each issue. I have played a pivotal role in two Smallish Design Awards cycles, working from conception to conclusion, all whilst performing my everyday duties as senior staff writer. I acted as a point of contact for our production team and entrants then helped to set up the judging days, oversaw their smooth running and producing copy for the special Awards issue in print and online. I have an exceptionally in-depth knowledge across the entire parenting industry. This covers brands, influencers and trends. I use social media to spot trends that I translate into printed content.
