A new graduate from Birmingham City University specialised in embroidery. With a unique way of thinking and often using science theories to inform concepts to start a project. These ideas are explored fully through a logical progressive approach to create a range of interesting surface designs. A very unique bridal wear company that really allowed me to explore and practice hand processes and beading techniques. Precision was very necessary during this placement there was no room for error.
A small community gallery set up in rural wilt shire to help support local artists. I had to deal with customers regularly and tell them about the artwork/artist or complete sales. I also had to arrange displays within the gallery.
Textile Design Degree where I specialised in embroidery. throughout the duration of the course I learnt how to design to respond and design to trends, design for both interiors and fashion applications, and design for both commercial and non commercial applications.
Throughout the year i was given the opportunity to explore different areas of art and design. i developed a wide and varied set of drawing skills which i still use today.
Given a live brief to respond to ColourHive's AW17/18 Trend Grace. The work was displayed at the January Furniture Show at the NEC in Birmingham where I was awarded the trend awareness awards for my embroidery samples.
