Since winning my first writing competition at the age of 7, my passion for writing and creating exciting content has never ceased. I founded The Dolly Mix Magazine in April 2015 as I realised the potential for a Social Media based magazine that drew on the popularity of well loved bloggers. It didn't seem enough to simply post pretty pictures and so the idea was to invite our audience to visit the places we ventured by reviewing them too. I hail from a media background having spent 3 years as a news editor at KVH Media. I have grown massively in my current role as assistant to the Television Distribution Team at Universal Studios. It hardly gets bigger than this in terms of production scale and the experience of the past 10 months here has been second to none.
I have always been proactive and my list of achievements reflects my affinity for connecting with people in different ways. I won the regional journalism award at the Citizenship Foundation Mock Trials, Liverpool Crown Court, and was awarded a travel scholarship by the Girls Day School Trust UK for outstanding effort in languages. I also organised and managed a multicultural community event sponsored by PUMA for Liverpool Supplementary School. Furthermore, during my sixth-form years, I was a member of Liverpool Youth Forum which received local funding to produce and direct a documentary depicting our journey with a local film producer. We covered contemporary issues facing young people and the film was screened at Liverpool University before city government members, and educational representatives. The venture was educating and fulfilled my love of social interaction, particularly with people of different cultures.
My degree specialism has afforded me a great deal of transferable skills which are highly useful in media. The ability to research and analyse large amounts of information, an excellent written command of English, fantastic communication skills, and really knowing how to analyse a situation from various viewpoints are all abilities that have become second nature to me.
One of my most valuable roles in my work history is a leadership position I undertook at my students union. As diversity integration officer, I was given access to union resources, and had a responsibility and licence to use these to organise events and activities in collaboration with different groups, as well as alone. A core part of my job was to run projects and activities to bring together different faith groups on campus. This has afforded me a wealth of experience that has refined my people skills greatly. The role improved my appreciation for resourcefulness, initiative and my ability to organise and motivate a team.

Founder
Full Time
After struggling to find the perfect position in a magazine, I founded The Dolly Mix Magazine, an online magazine hosting a refined mix of world culture, gastronomy, art, and 'celeb' interviews. Being able to write about all the things I am genuinely excited about is a massive bonus and it means that the writing I produce is at a high standard. I am responsible for all the written content on the magazine as well as the social media content (Instagram, Snapchat).
Digital Creative Team
- London, United KingdomFull Time
Currently I work as a team assistant to the Television Distribution Team. I enjoy the fast paced nature of the environment as well as the heavy creative focus rather than the corporate feel. Taking on projects and having autonomy has helped me grow massively and the exposure to one of, if not, the biggest media company's today has been invaluable.

Delving into the written word and it's impact was the perfect course of study for me. Analytical discourse as well as freedom to theorise, fueled further my passion for creating alternative mental ventures.
