I am a friendly, hardworking individual who thrives in a busy environment. I have very strong organisation and communication skills and I have extensive experience in coordinating events with capacities ranging from 100 to 180,000 people. Successfully negotiated contracts on a senior level and have specialised in working with young people, high level creative individuals and luxury brands. I source and assemble the required teams and act as the main point of contact whilst putting together and overseeing the budgets for world-wide events. Working with international companies and individuals has also meant compiling and distributing ever changing itineraries and applying for relevant work permits and visas.
Whilst at Three Six Zero, I signed three artists to the company; The Beaches, Elle Watson, and Fearless Vampire Killers. The Beaches were based in Toronto whilst Elle and FVK were based in the UK. I helped to establish and developed company relations with key music and art contacts including Ian Montone, John Silva, Paul Epworth, Steve Lazarides of Lazarides Gallery, and brands such as Red Bull, Fender (US), Converse, Cornerstone (incl. Fader) and Doctor Martens. I negotiated record deals for two of my acts; The Beaches signed a world wide deal with Island. Elle Watson signed to Paul Epworth's label, Wolf Tone. I also negotiated the publishing contract for Elle. Via AWAL I set up and maintained a label for The Beaches. Following this I booked much of their UK tour and promo then found them a world-wide agent (excl. N & S America). I also maintained FVK’s own label. I helped The Beaches get access to the allocated Canadian funding for the arts. This assisted with costs for their recording, national and international touring, PR, videos and artwork. I became the point person within the company for any TSZ employees needing to access the grant system for their Canadian artists. General admin such as maintaining the artist diaries, booking and overseeing studio time, travel, collaborations and budgets was also a standard part of the daily responsibilities. A large part of the role was also A&R, highlighting acts that we felt may fit well with either ourselves or another managers roster. We were also looking to help diversify the company’s roster.
Whilst at CMO I brought 16Bit into the company. 16Bit, who have now split up, were a pair of producers who produced for the likes of Bjork, Diplo, Professor Green, Plan B and Chris Cunningham. Their music was regularly featured in movie trailers and adverts. Along with 16Bit I also worked day to day on Gorillaz, Graham Coxon, Pete and the Pirates and Blur. During my time at CMO I was one of Damon Albarn’s day to day managers and so worked with one other on any and all of his projects including Dr Dee, Africa Express and his solo record. I also worked on the below: Gorillaz – I was the day to day manager alongside one other. Shortly after I started, the band embarked on a three-month world tour and released two albums in the space of one year. With a touring party of 100 people, I helped to contract, oversee and roll out this large team. I was also involved in the set up which included coordinating the visuals with Jamie Hewlett for the singles and the tour. Graham Coxon – Graham recorded two studios albums over the summer of 2010, I assembled his live band and touring crew and booked him into 10 low-key summer festivals around the UK, which set him up for his 2012 album release, A&E. Pete and the Pirates – After three years away, the band released their second album and toured extensively over 2011. I coordinated their single and album releases, which came out through indie label Stolen Recordings. I also plotted out their live plans for the year and liaised with the label, press and radio to put in place the marketing, press and radio plots. Gorillaz Sound System - I helped to book lucrative shows for GSS as well as hire in the required touring musicians and crew. Blur - I began to coordinate the second reunion, arranging studio and rehearsal time, as well as helping to coordinate their shows.
Working with the vice president of music international, I assisted in the day-to-day booking of some of the agencies most successful artists including Foo Fighters, Zane Lowe, The White Stripes, The Strokes, Q-Tip and Vampire Weekend. Tour schedules: routing and booking shows worldwide (excl. North America). Establishing close relationships with artists and their management Coordinating all the on-sale and pre-sales for all the tours. Constructing contracts for each date using knowledge of music related law in the UK and across the world. Site visits to venues to review suitability for shows and to meet with venue and artist production managers. Working out production logistics with management on large-scale stadium and arena shows, as well as arranging small club dates where artists would play “secret” shows. Liaising with management, labels and PR companies to coordinate tour advertising and artwork. Overseeing the accounting for all of the artists on the roster. Extensive guest lists for large and small shows.
