I started writing BuzzFeed posts in August 2015 as a Community Contributor. I have made posts and quizzes about a variety of topics, including "Friends", "Harry Potter" and "Game of Thrones". Writing these posts gives me the opportunity to create content about anything that I find interesting in a fun and creative way. My most popular post to date is the quiz "32 Times The "Game Of Thrones" Cast Friendships Were Too Much To Handle", which currently has 596K views. In October 2015, I started writing commissioned BuzzFeed posts as a BuzzFeed Contributor. Here's the link to my BuzzFeed profile: http://www.buzzfeed.com/sabrinabarr
• I write for Women's Fitness magazine and We Heart Living on a variety of topics, including fitness, health, beauty and wellbeing. • In addition to features, my current regular pages in Women's Fitness magazine are Running News, Health Wrap, Reviews and Stay Inspired. • My role also involves attending press events, going on press trips, maintaining good relationships with PRs and assisting on photo shoots.
As an intern at Women's Fitness, I was responsible for uploading and scheduling the content for weheartliving.com and womensfitness.co.uk on a weekly basis, which includes resizing images on Photoshop and extracting copy using InDesign. I schedule the social media posts for the We Heart Living Twitter, Facebook and Google+ accounts using Sprout Social. I wrote articles for We Heart Living and Women’s Fitness magazine, online and in print, on topics relating to health, fitness and beauty. http://weheartliving.com/author/sabrina-barr/ http://www.womensfitness.co.uk/authors/sabrina-barr Joanna Knight, Editor of Women's Fitness and We Heart Living: “Sabrina worked with the Women’s Fitness and We Heart Living editorial teams for just over 4 months and proved herself to be an invaluable member of the team. During this time she proved what a competent and creative writer she is. She is highly organised – always meeting or beating her deadlines – and she brings enthusiasm to every task. She grasps things quickly and gets the job done efficiently, and with a smile! She also shows great initiative when left to work alone. She’d make a valuable addition to any team.”
During my time as the Events Intern at Pretty Green, I worked on a number of live events, including: the LEGO Imagination Factory, which took place at The Centre MK in Milton Keynes and at Westfield in Shepherds Bush; OnBlackheath music festival, working within the John Lewis members' areas; the John Lewis Gift List at the National Wedding Show; and new store launches for Pandora. The internship required high levels of organisation, diligent research and a can-do attitude, which I was more than happy to provide. I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone on some very exciting projects and experiencing the fast-paced environment of the Events Team.
In December 2014, I undertook work experience in the Arts section of The Times. Work included transcribing interviews, research, proofreading and contributing to editorial articles. It was fantastic to experience what it is like to work at such a renowned publication and it was incredibly exciting to see some of my writing credited in The Times and on the website.
I interned for 2 months at Create Advertising, an award-winning agency specialising in audio-visual advertising for the entertainment industry. My role involved high levels of discretion in regard to the projects undertaken by Create, working as a runner, research, use of Final Cut, writing scripts for film and television trailers, shadowing editors and aiding at a publicity shoot.
While at university, I wrote for the Film & TV department of Impact Magazine, the University of Nottingham's official student magazine. My work has been featured on the Impact Magazine website and in the print issues. It includes short segments reviewing film trailers, film reviews and articles relating to the entertainment industry. Following 2 weeks' work experience, I worked as a freelance writer for The Beans Group, writing articles for student website www.studentbeans.com.
