  • Responsible for acquisition of production material to support the creation of subtitling, audio description and sign language content for deaf, hard of hearing, blind and partially sighted audiences. Acting as a central point of contact for production staff and the resource allocations team regarding scheduling, media and script issues. Liaising with internal and external departments in order to relay critical information and resolve queries. Working across a wide range of clients including the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, BT Sport and UKTV and undertaking tasks specific to each. QC checking of files prior to broadcast. Applying technical/metadata corrections to ensure compliance with playout and archival systems for different clients. Extracting scripts for subtitler use. Digitising and transcoding audio and video. Overseeing manual and automated delivery of digital media to a content management system. Troubleshooting asset transfers. Developing and maintaining good working relationships with external production teams to procure material for high-profile events far in advance of transmission. Ensuring that any sensitive or embargoed information is handled in accordance with signed non-disclosure agreements. Active in a workstream improvement project focused on increasing the availability of transmission-ready media, facilitating higher quality file subtitling production for late delivering programmes.
