Hello there, I'm Saira and I'm a Photographer. I began my career producing short documentaries which sparked the interest of Guardian Films who I then interned for. From then I worked in radio, marketing and PR until getting my foot in the door as a retoucher with Monkey Business, a production company. I worked my way up from a Junior Retoucher to Image Editor and then Post-Production Manager. Whilst in this position, I got back behind the camera and started shooting street style, covering Paris, London and Seoul fashion weeks for Getty and Shutterstock. I also began shooting lifestyle and business content for Guerilla Images (a side arm of Monkey Business) which took me around the world shooting in locations such as LA, Cape Town and Europe. After shooting commercially with models in beautiful locations in all around the world, I have gained a strong foundation in advertising, lighting, art direction and shoot production. Luxury brands such as Hemmerle, DreamFur and Jewellery Theatre began contacting me to shoot for their social media channels which would eventually lead me into video work, something I am expanding into now. In the next chapter of my career I would like to work in advertising, particularly in the field of art direction. I find that being behind the camera has its limitations. My focus is often on the technicality of the image with framing and aesthetic coming after. I often look back at my work and wonder how I would have directed the scene had my focus been on the final image itself. Meeting creatives, working on varied projects and experiencing the world is a great way of gathering inspiration, so get in touch to connect!
