My name is Sally Hill and I am currently working as an Editorial P.A / Runner for Toom Productions Ltd. I have been a runner in the film industry for the last two and a half years so I am used to assisting and supporting both individuals and teams. I believe I have mastered the art of running and am now looking for new challenges to face. I have very good interpersonal skills and am used to liaising with clients and other members of different departments. I am always highly professional and efficient and am used to working within an environment where confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
My job is to support the Editorial team with day-to day running of the office. I answer phones, do administrative work, which includes writing PO’s, timesheets and filling out petty cash forms. I order goods/ stationary for the department. I also make sure the office is stocked with groceries and I run work-related and personal errands for the rest of the team. I also act as a P.A to the Editor. This includes helping to arrange transport for him, being a liaison between him and other departments, diary management and arranging meetings. My key strengths within this role is the ability to be a team player who is interpersonal, I have good initiative and am highly organised I am able to adapt to ever changing situations
I worked for two weeks in Editorial as cover work and two weeks as Post Production Assistant which was also two weeks cover work. In Editorial I ran errand, filled out time sheets, booked travel for the editor and got drinks and lunches. In Post I supported the Post Supervisor with general administrative work, running errands and writing up travel movement orders.
Within the two weeks my role involved administrative work, taking paperwork to and from the relevant people, getting lunches and writing PO's
As a Post Production Runner I supported both the Post Supervisor and Post Coordinator with administrative work. I wrote PO’s, booked taxis for the team, stocked groceries and assisted the Producers office. I would also answer the phones and help deal with any requests made by other team members. For example organising furniture to be moved or added to any rooms. My key strengths within this role was having good organisational skills, having the ability to work to deadlines and having both excellent communication and listening skills.
My day to day duties included printing and filing for my team, order shopping, liaise with production Assistants, ordering office supplies and writing PO's. I would also run drives back and forth from set, and hand out iPads with dailies. I would also assist the Editor in anything he needed. This would range from reminding him about meetings or simply getting him a coffee. I also learnt about Pix Media and how to organise the Dailies within Pix.
I worked both as a runner and receptionist. I would meet and greet clients, look after their needs. I would also organise parking spaces for clients, answer phones and ensure the day-to-day running of the Post production Department ran smoothly.
My role was to provide admin support. I would create excel documents, send out mail, photocopy and file
