I’m a passionate writer and content marketer with a proven knack for producing compelling content. I write jargon free, charismatic copy that makes people want to keep on reading. I’ve gained handy experience in a couple of start-ups where I’ve carved out my own role and taken on increasing levels of responsibility. Recently backed by Google Ventures and Softbank Capital, Yieldify is one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the UK. Since joining, my role has developed from purely writing to helping develop the content strategy, including the editorial calendar and freelance writers. I focus on producing content to position Yieldify as thought leaders, raise awareness and drive leads. • Since joining, blog views have risen steadily with a 58% increase last month on the 3 month average. • The eBooks I’ve written have gained leads from the likes of Loreal, Unilever and Ikea. • I also manage the company’s social media accounts; this included our Series A fund announcement covered by publications internationally. We’ve seen a 38% increase in followers in the last 3 months using thought leadership. • In addition I write monthly client content emails and produce copy for various internal streams including emails and the Yieldify culture club.
Aspect runs the unique Motorexpo car shows in Canary Wharf, Toronto and New York. • I wrote various editorial pieces for the Motorexpo magazines, one of which is published for each show. The editorial had to be signed off by the clients who included Mercedes, BMW, Maserati and Lexus. (See my portfolio for examples.) • I managed and edited all content for the NY magazine, liaising between clients and our agency to ensure content was created to spec and met the print deadline. • I also took the reins on the social media for the shows and set up a plan to improve user engagement.
At Witlr I had a content baptism of fire - having the final say on all things copy and content related. I produced, proofread or edited all the written material distributed by the business. I wrote copy for everything, ranging from the website, blog and social media to weekly student user emails, direct mail and promotional materials for advertising and events. I focused on developing the brand’s tone of voice, particularly the way we talked to students and successfully increased Witlr’s presence. Examples of content include: • Writing original guides for jobseekers, featured in university careers services around the UK (eg. Birmingham University). • Starting a blog to drive traffic to the website, using a mixture of useful advice and fun content to gain clout with student users. • Having articles published in employer and jobseeker focused magazines, including Entrepreneur’s Handbook and Jobs and Careers Magazine. • Produced copy for various channels including press releases, the website’s latest news page, flyers and a new B2B clothing brochure. • Created briefs and guided artwork for flyers and mailers & performed website administration duties on the CMS. • Created weekly product email brief for our developers, taking into account season, stock levels and best sellers to gain highest click through possible.
