About me
I am a creative arts graduate with a passion for Art and Art History. My current employment with the Royal Academy of Arts is as the Design and Production Officer. In this role I work alongside the Marketing, Operations and Exhibition functions. Operating in a charity based environment working with museums, galleries, I have a responsibility to hit tight deadlines for exhibitions and work within by strict budget limits. Personally I have had to develop project management skills; to learn, develop and improve the function and establish or challenge exiting processes. As such, I am aiming to understand all facets of the Arts business. I have a happy and optimistic personality, I am able to work and communicate effectively at all levels and proactively challenge where necessary to seek improvements or to learn about new functions.
Work history
    Design & Production Manager
Leading all aspects of design and production management on design commissions made by the RA. I work closely and consult with design studios and print houses, linking with RA branding and exhibition demands daily. I also ensure excellent RA visitor experience by ensuring signage and communications are to the highest quality, maintaining the RA brand. As one of the lead project managers crossing all areas of Public Engagement; I have constant connections to all internal areas requiring design support. I also have interfaces into the studios commissioned to work with us on design, campaigns and exhibitions. This is a demanding role which I have mastered and requires strong organisation combined with persuasive and communicative skills to meet tight timescales and to convince others also. The role is further underpinned by my creativity and desire to see work perfect. Achievements: 1. Successfully manage a design/print placement budget. With an annual spend of £150K. 2. Minimise expensive re-work with suppliers. 3. Devised systems to ensure meticulous attention to detail. 4. Excellent communication across all departments and stakeholders. 5. Creative Services Account Executive
     -
Reporting to the Head of Creative Services and Lead Designer on a daily basis. Initially this role was created by me after identifying a gap between linking production and design with the client accounts teams. This resulted in an increase of revenues and greater use of in-house graphic design resource. In project managing the creative and production processes from end to end, I ensured that there was a seamless communication throughout from all suppliers/clients/contractors and I also actively sort out ways to create or improve processes and procedures used. Achievements: 1. Creating the Creative Services Account Executive role by successfully pitching to the managing director at Total Media. 2. Market research to maintain our new service had a continued competitive edge. 3. Increased revenues of creative output through clear understanding of expectations & deliverables. 4. Creating exciting new creative concepts with the Lead Designer that were then bought by both client accounts teams and the client. 5. Expanding our portfolio to include – National Portrait Gallery, The National Gallery & the V&A. 6. Established new procedures to join both production and design across multiple platforms.
