Freelancing for big British retailer F&F Clothing at Tesco as Ladies Casual Jersey Designer, full-time over the course of a 3 months period. This role ranged from designing India product for SS14 to create detailed specifications suitable for production. Entering styles onto the Excel critical path and attending range-building meetings with the buying teams.

These brands include Tommy Hilfiger, ASOS, Miss Selfridge, River Island, and Burton to name but a few. Providing production out of Turkey, Cambodia, and Bangladesh for Women’s, Men’s and Tween’s. Key Responsibilities: Managing a design team of five: 2 Designers, 1 Assistant Designer and 2 in-house Freelance Designers. Organising design and sales meetings with customers both in-house and in the factories. Creating trend analysis presentations, with colour direction, key silhouette, fabric and key details. Designing best seller shapes and prints by both freehand and on computer across multiple accounts, This was across both casual and smart Jersey on ladies and tweens departments. Mainly working closely with all relevant River Island deparments. Coordinating the day to day running of the office, whilst maintaining a healthy buzzing productive atmosphere. Achievements: Head hunting a new design team following current expansion of the design office. Implementation and budget planning of trend trips and inspirational resources.

Key Responsibilities: Design both print & Jersey shape, managing accounts such as Dorothy Perkins, Only, Vero Moda, across women’s wear jersey departments including casual main range, tall/petite, smart and sportswear. Co-ordinating, & managing an Assistant Designer, Freelance Graphic Designers and Interns. Creative direction of shop reports and trend mood boards, attending research trips to Paris, and PV. Organising and attending meetings directly with buyers in both Turkey, Denmark and the UK. Responsible for both design direction and sales of over 250,000 units per month, making on average 3000,000 units per year for one of the leading high volume retailers on the UK high street. Being number one casual jersey supplier to the customer means that much responsibility to maintaining this standard is integral to the role. Key Skills: Working to very short lead times while maintaining a high level of creativity and focus. Designing a range of shapes to the season and applying prints to technical specifications.
