About me
I am a Textile Print and Rug Designer creating pieces for the interiors market. I have a bold and contemporary style which is usually inspired by my natural surroundings including coastal textures. I have a strong use for colour being quite expressive within the designs I create. I value hand craft skills and have excellent technical ability that I use through drawing, collaging, painting and more. I am currently self employed, having set up my own e-commerce business, I specialise in hand tufted rugs and work mainly on a commission type basis.
Projects
- Structured From NatureThis project is inspired by my natural surroundings. I wanted to explore the physical structures that nature creates and elaborate on this. I explored surface textures particularly so in plants, extreme close ups of the way nature is built and the weird and wonderful ways nature can grow. From this, I abstracted my found textures and shapes to create bold, contemporary, colour final print and rug designs, intended for the modern and artistic interiors space.

I have set up my own business, I am currently working this self employed, I make bespoke, tailored hand tufted rugs and work on a commission basis. I create large scale, abstract, expressive pieces that have all been handmade using a tufting gun, and occasionally hand stitch too. From doing this I have gained excellent knowledge on how to run a business, keeping track of receipts, working with customers, marketing, managing my finances and becoming extremely social media savvy. I've also gained excellent technical knowledge on rug making, my pieces are always completed to the highest standards , I pride myself in my handmade quality. I have also practiced my skills working independently which include meeting deadlines, being self motivated and multi-tasking different orders at once as well as balancing it with my other jobs.
