Samuel is a multidisciplinary photographer and creative specialising in fashion editorial and advertising, and the rebranding and retrofit of brands and businesses using refined and arresting imagery. With a meticulous eye for detail and being artistically conscious, Samuel has come to understand, to it’s full extent, the power of a photo and how to tailor this into any brand identity. Samuel has devised a versatile, unique and highly recognisable language within his images, one that appeals to personnel across the board of editorial and advertising. He enjoys bridging the gap between androgyny and femininity, creating timeless and emotive imagery, portraying strength of character and unique beauty.
Besides the imagery, a huge part of Samuel’s work is about collaborating with new and established models, taking a huge interest in the new generation of faces. Along with this Samuel keeps his finger firmly on the pulse of the fashion industry, and having numerous longstanding, collaborative relationships with industry professionals across the UK and Europe.
Samuel started out in photography and the creative arts from a young age, developing his practice and style using 35mm and Medium Format film. Then moving on to University where he experimented with large format and the latest digital imaging technologies. This is where a profound attunement to portraiture and fashion was discovered, challenging the preconceptions of the male and female figure, and dealing with ideas of androgyny within our society. His images have a dark and unsettling aesthetic which coexists with a refined artistic style for advertising and commerce.

D2 Creative Productions is a visual fashion production company started by Samuel Geals alongside the team of creatives he works with privately. Samuel is a multidisciplinary photographer and lighting technician specialising in fashion editorial, advertorial and advertising. He has now moved on to larger scale productions including the management of visually retrofitting new and start up fashion brands all the way to worldwide companies and premium fashion brands.
Samuel has devised a versatile, unique and highly recognisable language within his images, one that appeals to personnel across the board of editorial and advertising. He enjoys bridging the gap between androgyny and femininity, creating timeless and emotive imagery, portraying strength and unique beauty. Along with this he has kept his finger firmly on the pulse of the fashion industry, and having numerous long standing, collaborative relationships with industry professionals across the UK and Europe.
Samuel now specialises in the production of photoshoots, from conception to delivery. Within this he is able to produce and direct a wide range of photographic and visual content, from advertising and editorial to e-commerce and look books, from fashion film and social content packages. With this ability, Samuel has produced beautifully unique images and video content from brands developing identity.
Through this Samuel has started D2 Creative Productions so that he can offer the full service to his customers, brands, clients and working relationships.

Working as the Store Manager out of the Brighton branch, moving up from Sales Expert to Team Leader and Academy Trainer then to Store Manager has put me a number of different situations to learn from and grow. I developed a number of skills that would benefit me in other responsibility driven roles as well as my life outside of work. A Manager at Jessops is responsible for the running of the store including it’s finances with a focus on the stores P&L, logistics and problem solving, maintaining momentum and driving the team. Through this I have put the store in a profitable position at the end of financial year by training the team, shifting staff expectations and responsibilities, managing staff personalities and running the store efficiently, building relationships with local businesses and other stores within the company.
One of my greatest achievements from working in the Brighton store was to prove that my focus on community in a community driven city would ultimately benefit a business. I built relationships with local businesses and people who relied on us for their camera and printing needs. Within this I liaised with a high end studio where the store holds it’s Academy courses. Not only is this the biggest and most well equipped studio in Brighton meeting all of our needs, it’s also a great introduction for customers to move on to and meet local professionals. What we saw from this was a boost in customer interaction and interest in Academy leading to Brand Representatives wanting to hold in-store tutorials for camera users. We also saw higher volumes of profitable print sales as customers would take pride in their new skills and imagery. This community driven business model soon filtered through to Colleges and Universities relying on us for knowledge and print facilities.
