Focusing on the design of narrative environments for commercial exhibitions, events, retail spaces, visitor attractions and museums. The programme specialises in ‘storytelling’, whether for a brand, a collection or an idea. Learning to use a multidisciplinary approach that includes aspects of graphic, interior and interactive design to construct a narrative that acts as an ‘interpretive bridge’ between the client and the audience. Creating interactive, engaging spaces that communicate messages in a memorable and innovative manner.
Summer Programme led by Gary Thorne, the course is an introduction to the creative process of set design for live performance: site-specific work, theatre, musical or opera. Exploring the designer's vision, creative and practical skills, effective communication and how to develop a critical eye for performance.
