About me
I am a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable, recently graduated Marketing Communications student at the University of Westminster Business School, who values and enjoys both working in a team and working on my own initiative to meet challenges and achieve objectives. I have good communication and IT skills and I develop good relationships with my fellow workers and the people I meet in everyday life. I have a strong interest in media and its relationship with business. I strive to work to the best of my ability and push myself to ensure everything I complete is to a high standard. I am highly motivated and committed to tasks I am completing on an everyday basis. I am very organised and find creative ways to develop new and exciting ideas. I bring my work up to a high standard to ensure everyone, including myself, is satisfied with the outcome. I have a passion in business and media management and this has driven me to believe I have great ambitions for the future. I have the ability to work with spreadsheets and databases, as having experience for this from my ICT skills and work I have completed in my own time. I find technology interesting and fun. I explore technology to ensure I am up to date with new ways of completing task. Alongside this, I am able to work with up-to-date software. Furthermore, I have gained more skills from my use of social media. In my spare time I am asked to promote companies on twitter, for example clothing brands and food companies such as ‘Chips Ahoy’ cookies, to help with their marketing and interaction with new consumers. This has built my interest within the business and media industry more, as I have been able to explore new strategies to build the finances for companies and build my online following. I have a great understanding in the way the media industry works, as I have studied it with passion throughout my two-year A level course. I have learnt, in depth, the ways of working within media industries and have been able to undergo tasks to put these skills I have learnt into place. I have also learnt about exclusivity contracts, vertical and horizontal integration and audience relationship and interaction. With this course I have also had to undergo tasks within groups which I have had individual responsibility in a number of key tasks, for example, working in the logistics team for a music video and coming up with the idea for a new app. For this I completed the marketing strategies, promotion, breakeven and the percentage of the company owned by an investor. To complete this, I had to use my numeracy skills to work out budgeting, costing and roughly how much money we would make each year before we breakeven. As I have studied English Language alongside this, I have built strong written communication skills. It has also built my confidence in public speaking, which helps me deliver presentations relating to my projects and to help customers in job positions. I have expanded on these skills since I started to undergo my Marketing Communications degree at the University of Westminster Business School. It has widened my knowledge of the marketing industry and marketing strategies. With help from one of my University modules ‘Web-enabled Business,’ I have been able to create a website from scratch using HTML coding and JavaScript on the software Dreamweaver CC. My hobbies and interests include listening to music of all genres and eras, regularly attending music events, social media, travelling and photography. Alongside this, I am self-taught in playing musical instruments and was a part of my school choir. In addition, I had written regular music articles in my school newspaper, including a review of my experience at events like ‘The Brit Awards.’ In my spare time I also keep up to date with current affairs and entertainment news.
