About me

I am a freelance writer based in Sydney with a focus on the arts, fashion, and design. As well as contributing to titles such as independent Australian fashion magazine Russh and Dasha Zhukova's international art and fashion tome Garage Magazine, my portfolio extends to verbal identity, naming and copywriting. I have recently graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Master of Arts in Journalism and in 2012 I was one of only 12 Australian students to win a place in the competitive 18th Biennale of Sydney Art Writing Program supported by Copyright Agency Limited. 2014

Senior Writer

Interbrand Australia

Jun 2014 - Jul 2014
  • Following freelance copywriting work for Interbrand in 2014, I was employed to cover the annual leave of the Associate Director of Verbal Identity for a period of six weeks. I was lucky enough to create the verbal identity and execute the brand writing for all elements of a new campaign for a prominent Australian charity to be launched later this year. I also developed copy for Opera Australia’s Season 2015 brochure and created a series of character profiles for The Rocks Village Bizzare, an experiential event held in The Rocks every Friday in November.

2014

Founding Editor

Friend the Magazine

Feb 2015 - Jun 2014
  • Friend the magazine was founded as a fashion and culture magazine with an inviting smile. Its aim was to present contemporary creative culture through a filter of friendship by featuring creative front-runners and the artistic partnerships they hold dear. During my tenure I set the language and text style for the title, either wrote or edited all texts, and sourced and project-managed all written content. The title has now evolved into a fashion magazine. Please refer to sarahlclark.com to view a portfolio of content I created for the magazine.
