Mixed media designer, image maker and recent graduate in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art & Design, University of the Arts London. My work explores modern codes of femininity, self image and texture. I love to work with innovative, unusual and challenging new materials and take a playful, tactile approach to design.
Whilst interning at Giles Deacon my responsibility was to hand embroider embellishments onto garments for the Spring/Summer 2016 collection to an extremely high standard as well as supervising and providing quality control of hand embroidery produced by less experienced interns. I also assisted with administrative duties around the studio such as filing, organisation and assisting designers.
My responsibilities included working closely with Molly on producing her Fall 2015 collection and hand embroidering textile embellishments to an extremely high standard ready for exhibition and sale. This proved to be an incredibly valuable experience as I was able to learn first hand the many varied necessities of running an independent fashion label.
Whilst interning at House of Holland my main responsibility was hand- embroidering embellishments on accessories and clothing from the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 shows to an extremely high quality ready for sale, as well as helping the design and sales team on a daily basis around the studio. I was also chosen to be part of a team of 3 exceptional interns to run a sample sale for the brand in July 2013. I found this an incredibly valuable experience as I got to not only deal with the financial side of the business but also had the chance to interact with valued customers of the brand on a more personal basis.
