About me
I studied illustration at the University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU) - The Netherlands. After graduating in 2015 I exhibited my graduation project “Sonder Ons” on the Dutch Design Week. A few months later I decided it was time for a new adventure and moved to London where I am currently based.
I have a fascination for social interaction and love to
illustrate situations in a simple and humoristic way. My goal is to find the essence of a story and make a fitting illustration for it. I get inspiration from the simple situations in daily life.
I want to use my storytelling and design skills to change the perspective of an individual through my design solutions.
Projects
- Sonder OnsSonder Ons Sonder is the word for the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. Populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness. Opening up to small individual encounters during our daily routine can be both surprising and valuable. These encounters can brighten our sometimes uneventful daily life. I like to offer people the possibility to more easily meet eachother in their daily routines by using my especially redesigned everyday objects. The individual participants can influence the encounter by taking control, or by neutral or submissive behaviour. I want to make people realise that we each can chose to be part of a more social world. It may take some effort, but it sure will be exciting.
