I began this small Post-Production company alongside another Editor and a Colourist. As a team, we compiled videos for Music festivals such as Global Gathering and various live music performances for up and coming artists such as Natty and One Bomb. Once we proved successful, we began corporate editing including charity videos for clients such as Count the Kicks and various property management videos.
I sat in with Editor Christine Pancott on a part time basis over a 6-month period. I shadowed her for Ross Kemp’s Extreme World Series, learning from her expertise. I was able to take all of the information, creativity and inspiration away with me.
Following my role as Runner, I progressed to Post-Production Librarian. My role was to ensure all tapes, drives and paperwork were sent to the relevant departments for each stage of Edit. I ensured CTA received the correct rushes for any ingests or digitising required, Colourists received the correct conform masters for a grade and Clients would receive their Final Masters on time for airing. I dealt with HDCAMs, HDCAM SRs, Digibetas, LTOs and Drives amongst others. I was lucky enough to receive training in many different areas of The Farm Group. My training included sessions within Battery, allowing me to understand the use of drives within Post-Production.
I took on the role of Post Production Runner at The Farm Group, a top television and film Post-Production Company based in Soho, London. I carried out tasks to ensure Editors and Clients could fulfill their roles smoothly and efficiently. My responsibility was to make sure all tapes and rushes got to where they needed to be, adhering to strict deadlines. My role was also highly hospitable.
A Polish immigration video, preparing viewers for their move to the UK. I took on runner duties such as prop assistance and hospitality.
Through my involvement as a Production Assistant, I became acquainted with clients in need of a video editor. With previous editing experience through my education, I was able to offer my services on a part-time, freelance basis. I edited corporate footage for property investors, turning them into DVD’s and web-videos.
I attended numerous television shoots, voluntarily, as a Production Assistant/Runner. They provided me with tasks from keeping time-codes to making the tea. This experience enabled me to gain a better understanding of the process involved in Production.
I did a Half Marathon in aid of Brain Tumour Research.
