About me
Scarlet Page studied photography at the University of Westminster followed by an ‘apprenticeship’ with legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin. She quickly developed her own fresh, documentary style travelling America with The Smashing Pumpkins, The Beastie Boys and the other acts on the Lollapolooza tour of 1994 and the following year she was commissioned to shoot the cover for The Verve’s ‘A Northern Soul’ album. Since then Scarlet has gone on to work with some of the music world’s biggest acts. She worked closely with Robbie Williams on various projects including album art and the book ‘Somebody Someday’ and she toured the World with The Darkness. Her other credits include The Foo Fighters, The Black Crowes, The Rolling Stones, The Stereophonics, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Placebo with pictures appearing in The Times, The Independent, Q, Uncut and Clash amongst others. She continues to be commissioned by all the major record labels to shoot artwork and press campaigns for high profile bands. Scarlet has had various exhibitions of her own and has contributed to collective shows including the Visions of Dylan show in 2007. She has also worked extensively for charities, including the ABC Trust, the PDSA and Warchild. For the latter, Scarlet photographed artists and celebrities and their children for a fund raising exhibition held at the Proud Gallery in Camden and later at the Royal Albert Hall. For 2013 she is working on a major personal project documenting legendary British rock musicians.
Projects
  • Stereophonics
StereophonicsScarlet Page shot the pictures for Q magazine’s feature on the Stereophonics to tie in with the release of the band’s new album ‘Keep the Village Alive’ later this month. Scarlet has history with the Stereophonics and has worked with them many times over the last 15 years. Amongst other things she created the image for the cover of their second album ‘Performance and Cocktails’ and recently photographed the band’s frontman Kelly Jones for inclusion in her ‘Resonators’ – guitar legends – project. The pictures and the interview by eminent journalist and Scot Tom Doyle are to be found in the October issue of Q which is out now.
  • Resonators
ResonatorsResonators – Scarlet Page‘s project to create a portrait gallery of the world’s greatest rock guitarists – is about to be launched. The fruits of a two year project, Resonators features Brian May, Paul Weller, Jeff Beck, Graham Coxon, Jimmy Page and many more, all presented in high quality black and white The book, beautifully designed by one time GQ designer Warren Jackson, goes on sale on 1st December and this week, on 26th November, the Resonators exhibition opens at Proud’s Camden gallery.
  • Kiesza
KieszaScarlet’s portraits of Canadian musician Kiesza were in last month’s issue of Q Magazine! The singer and dancer exploded onto the UK music scene this year with her number one single ‘Hideaway’, which was premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show. The album, Sound of a Woman, was released in October on indie label Lokal Legend. Scarlet said, “in a swish new Shepherds Bush hotel shooting a talented lady named Keisza. I love photographing true performers, she can sing, dance and is amazingly photogenic. We do a whole press sessions worth in 30 minutes. She is bringing 90?s music back too, awesome!”
