As an avid lover of film, both my career path and hobbies are related to all things cinematic. By day, I work as a Team Leader at a well-known cinema chain. But by night, I'm a movie reviewing, opinion spewing, gum chewing machine over at my website Review Avenue.
I began blogging in 2010 mainly to pass the time and to keep track of the films I'd watched that year. My first review, Daybreakers, garnered enough attention from friends that made me contemplate taking the site further than just a small, free-to-host blog. A few months later, I'd partnered with a t-shirt company who specialise in designs of fictional brands who provided me with premium hosting of RA - and the occasional swell free thread too.
Over the years, Review Avenue has grown to be recognised as 'Blog of the month' by Flixster in 2011, recieved advertising offers from Coca Cola and Tesco, and built strong relationships with independent distributors such as Eureka and Thunderbird Releasing, while often receiving press releases and Blu-Ray screener discs from the likes of Warner Brothers ans Sony - and it all came from humble beginnings in a small Staffordshire bedroom.
So if anyone asks 'Could you do it on a rainy Tuesday night in Stoke?', I can hold my head high and say 'Yes. Yes I can. And I still do; every darn Tuesday.'
