About me
I am 23 years old and graduated from Bournemouth University this year (2017) with a degree in Digital Media Design. Being a new graduate my passions lie with IOS development and Front End design, but more specifically UI/UX design. Bridging the gap between Creative & Front End I can build and develop responsive web pages, mobile IOS applications and some back end functionalities as well, whilst maintaining my passion for design. I strive to create pixel-perfect pages with the user in mind.
Projects
  • The Lad Capsule
The Lad CapsuleThe Lad Capsule is an IOS Geo-Location App that I designed and developed from the ground up, and have a working prototype. The Lad Capsule serves as a digital time capsule, which saves and locks away entertaining memoirs/testimonies for as long as a user wishes. Before linking the capsule to a Geo-Location they must first set a time and date for that capsule before it can be accessed and updated again. By linking a capsule to a Geo-Location it forces the users to relive moments with their friends, essentially going back in time, with the app updating itself and saving the history of the experiences. Along with the app itself I created a 20 page dossier documenting the design and development process of the app, including user personas as well (available for download here). I used Adobe Illustrator to design the bulk of the graphics for the app, and Photoshop for mockups and accompanying graphics. The app was coded in X-Code in Apple's Swift programming language. This quickly became my favourite programming language, though it was challenging at first.
  • Holton Lee
Holton LeeThe app is designed as a virtual tour guide where Holton Lee visitors are shown various points of interest on the map - mainly where wheel chair access is difficult. Users are able to use the location services on their iPhone to navigate the estate. The application also shows visitors the best routes to take and screens where they can read more about the animals. Holton Lee is a wellbeing discovery centre that witholds a particular understanding of disabilities and mental ill-health and runs a diverse programme designed to benefit the whole person – promoting physical, mental, spiritual and social wellbeing. This project was built and developed as part 'Hexatech' which was part of a live breif for Holton Lee. For this project I took on the junior designer role and I contributed to the development of the application. I created mock-ups for the app including logos, icons and maps. In addition to this I assisted working working on user locaiton and mapping the various routes.
  • YUMI
YUMIThe initial idea behind this project was to create a web app where users could view and post recipes online, and to share them on different platforms. Whilst designing YUMI it was important that it's simple for the user to navigate and to understand how to use. The application was created using PHP and MySQL to create a database - along with various other technologies for the design. The database was developed to control the data architecture of the application. Non-signed up users are able to view recipes and members that are signed up are able to log in and add recipes. All users can search/filter recipes by starters, mains, desserts and drinks. You can view the ideation, planning and development process here on my blog.
