The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in ourselves, that we are underlings.’ I played Brutus in the play Julius Caesar back in 8th grade and even though I was not truly mature enough then to understand the poignancy of these words written by William Shakespeare, these words have somehow resonated with me to date. And it is at this point in my life that I finally have been able to decipher this line. Creativity has been my most valuable asset and it fuels my soul. There have also been nights when it has kept me up because divine revelations usually happen in solitude at odd hours. But I have always used it as my weapon to overcome obstacles as well as my means to exist. Even though I have a Business degree, I have always been an artist at heart. Throughout my life I have chosen different media to express my creativity, from Art, Theatre, Music and recently through Blogging, Writing and Marketing. Being a non-conformist has always pushed me to go down a different route and to appreciate alterity. I work well under pressure and have learnt to adapt to my surroundings. My penchant for learning drives me towards new experiences, which is probably why I can relate to Shakespeare’s words so much, because humans are masters of their fate and sometimes we have to take steps that we cannot take in order to propel forward. I left my job in an extremely corporate environment to go work for a Human Rights organisation in Pakistan. My last job was with Justice Project Pakistan (JPP) and who work in close association with the United Nations. We defended some of the most vulnerable members of the Pakistani society who did not fit anywhere in the jurisprudence of the country and were sentenced to death. My job was as a Social Media and Communications officer, whereby I had to come up with digital campaigns, plan out online distribution, increase engagement with the audiences, organise events and meet with key stake holders. JPP was funded through grants and the Communications department had its own grants that had KPIs set out annually, which meant that we had extremely tight budgets to work around when marketing online. This is where I played my part which was to sensitise the Pakistani population and to create awareness against capital punishment and the flaws of a weak judicial system that ruined generations. I might not have grey hair to prove my worldliness but I do have ideas and my creativity to substantiate otherwise. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am always up for a conversation, meeting new people, exchange of ideas or even if you want a good listener!Locked Pro Plan feature
