I have a very varied background in writing. Let me explain, I often describe my CV as a “spine”. This is because instead of the usual route straight up it’s gone back and forth on it’s way up. On one hand this means the my career hasn’t shot me right up to the top of my field, but rather slowly moved me up with a much more varied understanding of the different areas of writing. It's okay, I’m cool with that. Advertising copywriting? Check. Magazine editorial? Check. Public Relations? Check. In-house copy? Check. Blog writing? Check. Copy editing? Check. All of that combines to make me pretty adept at any form of writing, (except, honestly, financial). A lot of my recent work has been parenting articles and health blogs.

(Continue to work freelance) Created and managed all online content (including photos) for health and wellness company. “Spoke” directly to customers via the weekly newsletter. Responsible for compelling copy to perspective clients and corporate customers via website as well as direct communications.
Writer and editor for European fractional private jet airline geared towards corporations and high-net worth individuals. Created copy for internal and external clients.
2006–2007 (Continue to work freelance) In charge of writing and editing for the largest health club group in the world. In my first six months I rewrote the entire website, established the company’s tone of voice and revamped their external and internal communications. Projects include advertising copy, web copy, press office work (including working with media and writing all press releases), writing and editing both customer and in-house communications, including company newsletter for all clubs in the UK.
Wrote and edited for magazine’s special advertising section, focusing on health and luxury items.
Wrote, edited, researched and managed TSI’s 450,000-circulation member magazine, Strong. Helped create and maintain editorial vision and direction of the magazine. In addition, chief writer and editor for all communications—internal and external, including ads and brochures for TSI and its health clubs: New York Sports Clubs, Boston Sports Clubs, Washington Sports Clubs and Philadelphia Sports Clubs. Created and edited content for member and employee websites. Established and maintained TSI’s editorial style manual.
Generated and managed publicity for large international advertising agency.
Responsible for public relations for worldwide award-winning design firm. Managed both internal and external communications. Spearheaded re-launch of the company’s website.
Part of selection committee to choose award-winning advertising agencies and design companies for special edition of the nation’s top graphic design magazine. Interviewed and profiled the winners in the magazine.
In charge of entire upfront section for irreverent, feature-driven, monthly. Covered all aspects of advertising creative work, including trend stories and personality profiles. Generated story ideas, conducted interviews and wrote feature articles. Assisted with layout, editing and design. Attended numerous industry events representing the magazine, including The Cannes International Advertising Festival.
Reported and wrote articles for leading weekly industry magazine. Also contributed daily news alerts. Covered new product launches, pop culture and advertising creative work.
