About me
I am a highly driven individual, currently studying BA (Hons) Textile Design specialising in woven textiles. A sophisticated approach to working reflects a high attention to detail throughout my designs, and consideration of colour and fibres leads to samples with strong practical application for fashion and interior. After graduating in July 2017, I hope to gain relevant experience in the different sectors of the design industry.
Projects
  • Mohair Fashion Collaboration
Mohair Fashion CollaborationHaving won 1st place in a Mohair South Africa live brief competition in 2016, i was sponsored by the company to work directly with a fashion student from Nottingham Trent University in creating garment pieces that promote the mohair fibre. This included designing the patterns, contributing in colour and yarn decisions, culminating to a hand-woven final fabric which was then constructed in to a menswear fashion garment.
  • Unexpected Beauty
Unexpected Beauty“Mohair is known worldwide as “the noble fibre” or “the diamond fibre”. Its exclusive qualities – lustre, resilience and colour reflection – have been its success, and the South African mohair industry has grown into the global leader, producing the world’s best mohair.” A brief designed around promoting awareness of mohair as a sustainable fashion fibre and the qualities it holds. Working alongside an embroiderer and knitter to produce a collection based on the ‘Unexpected Beauty’ of decaying surfaces, interpreting the colours and textures through a range of techniques.
  • The Reflected Form
The Reflected FormAs the light beams illuminate through the building and its composed walls, the warm shadows reflect the endless, uninterrupted forms on the cool ground. The once emotionless base now becomes a picture of shapes and interest. Vast arrays of monochrome tone intertwined with delicate fragments of colour, offers a glimpse of intense brightness among a sea of shadows.
