Currently studying on the MA Fashion Cultures course at London College of Fashion. I’m a fashion writer who balances an academic mind-set with a commercial outlook on the clothing industry. I can switch from 140-character tweets to essays, literally at the touch of a button. Looking for freelance work while I study.
Getting to write about beautiful, high quality products is pretty much my dream, so working with Iuxury homewear and underwear brand Derek Rose makes my job very easy. Focusing heavily on digital content, I am the chief contributor to the Derek Rose blog and I assist in the merchandising of the website and with creating marketing emails. I also write all online product copy, detailing technical features of our underwear and setting scenes of relaxation when describing our sleepwear. Social media is another outlet that I utilise on a daily basis, managing Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest and Instagram. Everyone loves tweets about men's underwear. Another facet of my job is co-ordinating PR, both with the press and our PR agency. I am the main point of contact for information about the brand: working with stylists to arrange the most appropriate samples for editorials, and with our PR agency to ensure our press releases best reflect the values of Derek Rose and the stories we are telling with our collections.
Currently specialising in fashion and film, I am exploring the intersections of cultural and social theory to discover the histories of fashion and how it has helped shaped identity and subjectivity.
