Following a month-long internship at BBC factual, I worked on a freelance basis at the BBC on shows including Dog Borstal and History Hunters, before moving to TalkbackThames. Moving up from office runner to Development Researcher, my role involved developing programmes for factual entertainment from conception to treatment and pitch.
Working with our shopper team in the UK and ATL team at AVM BBDO Dusseldorf, I conceptualise and develop shopper activation, messaging and big ideas across all ITG brands. As sole Copywriter working across every ITG brand on an international level, I quickly developed and adapted a wide range of TOV and solid understanding of multiple brand identities. Joining Proximity Worldwide from the beginning meant being part of a start-up just finding its feet; taking on many roles and understanding how to not just work as a team, but help get the most out of that team.
Working with known brands including MusicMagpie.com, Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland to produce long copy, digital copy, blogs and scripts for promotional video campaigns. Conceptualising event pitch for Deloitte with Sprout TV. Working with Senior planner at Figtree/ Prophet to articulate a brand pathway for UBS. Working directly with founders of start-up companies to create smart consumer-driven digital copy. Clients include Pinktrotters.com, The Raw Chef, Rawr Chocolate and Ooosha.com – the UK’s leading raw chocolatier.
Responsible for increasing revenue in bespoke events and re-branding the Guardian’s Quarterly event as part of a wider drive for sponsorship. Ensuring that all brand products are effectively marketed in marketing communication. Conceptualising, planning and pitching bespoke sustainable fashion roundtable. After securing sponsorship from Timberland, I recruited environmental journalist Lucy Siegel to moderate and worked with Jo Confino – the Guardian’s Executive Editor to secure panellists.
