After leaving my position as Assistant at IMG Models, I moved onto a more senior position at Union Model Management. I particularly enjoyed working in this small boutique agency as it was a very different experience to working within a global network. I learned to form and nurture relationships with model agencies all over the world and how to find and approach new and foreign agencies with upcoming models. I focused my time at Union on development board and editorial work, working with a range of editorial clients. Part of my job involved scouting at different events, something i thoroughly enjoyed and occasionally continue to do.
As my first ever full time role within the fashion industry, I had the fortune of working with such an established world wide agency. My role at IMG was that of Assistant, and being the “younger” office of the network we functioned with a small team but nevertheless as the powerhouse that IMG is. Because of the size of our team my role was very varied and incredibly busy, solely juggling the art department, reception, scouting and assisting each booker but with particular attention to the Director. I gained vast amounts of knowledge, had the opportunity to work alongside some of the world best models, agents and clients. After my first initial months I began my work towards in the editorial directions and begun establishing relationships with influential magazines. An exciting part of being a global network was that I had the opportunity to work and travel to the Milan office during fashion week. This was such an important step for me as I learned how different offices work, and began to acquire knowledge of each different market, their differences and their needs.
