Freelance Theatre Director & Media Producer/APBarking, United Kingdom
About me
I am a Theatre Director and Film Producer/Director experienced in directing, assistant/associate/resident directing, running workshops with developing artists and schools, producing, project management, editorial, marketing and social media. In Theatre, my work covers a wide range, including musicals and plays. I have been involved with the development of numerous new musicals and plays and am also interested in reinvigorating established works for modern day audiences. One of my specialisms is work that gets new audiences into theatres and family productions. I have worked in the West End, regional and fringe theatres and for major youth theatre companies. This has included working on Olivier Award winning productions. In Film and Content Production, I trained at leading creative agency BBH and award-winning content makers Somethin' Else. Progressing on from this, I was taken on as an Assistant Producer at Somethin' Else, before going Freelance, initially as Video Producer at The Times and then Film Producer for a series of films for Penguin Random House's Children's Division and Website Producer on The BRIT Awards. I was recently Locations Manager/Associate Producer on 'To Dover', a short film, recently entered into the London Film Festival. I am interested in further opportunities in Production within broadcast television and film, as well as branded content/entertainment.
Projects
  • Lost Boy (Resident Director)
Lost Boy (Resident Director)Resident Director on LOST BOY, directed by Phil Willmott, which ran at the Finborough Theatre before transferring for an eleven week run at Charing Cross Theatre. This enabled me to gain experience of maintaining a longer run, whilst rehearsing recasts. LOST BOY was a dark sequel to Peter Pan reuniting J. M. Barrie's characters as young adults on the eve of the First World War.
  • IN THE HEIGHTS (Assistant Director)
IN THE HEIGHTS (Assistant Director)Assistant Director on the UK premiere of IN THE HEIGHTS at Southwark Playhouse. The production was directed by Luke Sheppard (Associate Director on MATILDA) with choreography by Drew McOnie. IN THE HEIGHTS is an exhilarating journey into Washington Heights, one of Manhattan's most vibrant communities, filled with hopes, dreams and pressures on the brink of change. The production was nominated in seven categories for the Broadway World Awards and received seven nominations at The Offies.
  • Something's Got To Give (Director)
Something's Got To Give (Director)SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE was a metatheatrical multimedia comedy drama exploring the construction of celebrity identity through emulations of Marilyn Monroe and Amy Winehouse. The devised piece made use of archive footage and verbatim texts, seeing Monroe's stardom as a precursor to Winehouse's own in an intrusive, media-focused age.
