Hi my name is Sinead McKeever. I'm from Derry in Northern Ireland. Currently I am making a documentary about cross community relations and the music scene in Derry-Londonderry. The documentary is called "Legoderry" as it is part of a fundraising project to send children from the most segregated areas of the city to go to Legoland together. The project also consists of a band night in the nerve Centre in Derry and a zine of local artists and poets. I came up with the idea after attending a cross community youth group meeting in the town and was very inspired by the people involved in the youth clubs. All money raised will go towards sending the kids on the trip :). If you would like to watch the trailers for the documentary you can find them here: Trailer 1 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDulKmhm8OI Trailer 2 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nrNT3jDrJs&t=3s Trailer 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=726xcw9bZNI I have no experience whatsoever in film making or documentaries, it was just an idea I had that I decided to run with, however I have really enjoyed this process and have become passionate about film making and am now considering it as a career path :). I also do not have any budget at all for the documentary but I don't really need any money to make it I've found. The finished documentary will be out soon. My main job is working in PR for a small festival in Derry called "Stendhal Festival" ILocked Pro Plan feature
My work is in PR and marketing of the Festival, coming up with novel and innovative ideas for marketing for example I came up with a "message in a bottle" campaign where codes to win tickets to the festival were planted in beaches all around Northern Ireland. It got some good press and media attention at the time and will be doing it again this year. Furthermore lots of other different ideas in order to market the festival as much as possible. I am also involved in general organising of the festival as well as doing interviews with artists and writing blog posts and articles for the festival website.
I started university in 2013, however I had to drop out before I could graduate due to mental health dignities. However I am fully recovered now.
