I'm currently embarking on my fourth short film, Othello, set in Thamesmead (where I live) and the Dirt Bike scene, with a female Othello, I developed this with Film London. I am now putting the finishing touches to an experimental pop, visual-album.
As a Writer, Director and Musician I approach things from an autobiographical point of view. I'm particularly interested in the relationship between how I manage my anxious thoughts and the secondary internal world that I create in order to do that. I think the space between the two can create an interesting visual world. What are the things we daren't say or do but that we think about? What do we desire? And also what does that says about all of us? That's why I just really, really vibe with the under dog. They're honest.
In 2013 I founded Black Mountain Films, which is focused on producing unique, often female driven film content. In 2012 I received training in Warsaw in a BFI sponsored initiative, called Future Film. In 2014 I was named in Pretzel Films Talented New Directors Competition. In 2015 I received a bursary from Ideas Tap to study Directing at the Northern Film School. I have been been asked by Screen Heritage, Goldsmiths University, Peabody and Greenwich Council to run archive and film practice workshops for young people from adverse backgrounds. I relate too this personally and I'm hugely passionate about it.
