My role at Urban Food Fest is incredibly diverse and has helped me become well rounded in many aspects of managing, multi-tasking and organising projects within a small company. My day to day jobs have harnessed my skills in events coordinating which has allowed me to develop a variety of skills in research, project management, maintenance of client relationships, organisation, site planning and more. The job also includes a creative element and I use my multi-disciplinary design background to create and maintain visual content which is in keeping with the brand identity.
A design internship with a Latvian NGO that focuses on environmental issues, and promoting a greener relationship between the public and nature. Working with Homo Ecos has allowed me to apply my design skills to briefs that are not traditionally design based and adapt myself to a different culture and work environment. It has also allowed me to work with issues that I think are important to challenge.
An internship with a London based studio who focus on experience based design. Interning with PAN has allowed me to develop skills in a variety of different areas including set design for an interactive theatre experience and branding for several project, whilst working in a small but tight-knit team.
A part-time job which has allowed me to practise skills in hospitality and customer care. It has developed my ability to offer a professional service when interacting with customers that come from all over the world. I was frequently able to use my second language, Mandarin, to help non-English speaking customers.
This experience gave me an insight into the practicalities of constructing an exhibition space for the Design Junction event in September 2013. I learnt how to help construct large wooden structures to showcase hand-crafted light shades and other practicalities to do with the preparation of an exhibition space.
A short work experience which allowed me to work in a small graphic design company where I was introduced to a local printing company as well as looking at aspects of branding and 2D design.
