Account ExecutiveOgilvyOne
- 20 Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 9PD, UKFull Time
At OgilvyOne I worked on the BT Account.
Day to day I was managing the client, writing creative briefs, keeping on top of finance, getting artwork out the building and juggling client needs vs creative wants.
While at Ogilvy I became part of the Netball team - playing weekly on Wednesdays as GK.
I joined Ogilvy thinking I just wanted to work in a creative environment, but while there I became more and more envious of the creatives. I used to scamp my own ideas after creative briefings, pitch new strategies for BT to the CDs and spend any free time comparing creative tests to see which creative DM had won.
It became very clear to me that I wasn't set out to be a suit forever, and through creatives in the studio I came across SCA.

At SCA I've so far learned more than any other school I've been to. We have the best mentors to learn from and we are only 39 students which makes it a very close knit school. We've so far been taught & are putting into practice everything from strategy, propositions, scamping techniques, idea generation, concept development, execution, copywriting, innovation and problem-solving. It's like working in a small agency with all the creative space you want.
BSc Physical Geography
- Exeter, United Kingdom
Unexpected hey? When I went to uni I had to decide between Art, Geography or Psychology, and Geography had the biggest pull for me (mainly due to the field trips and learning about Climate Change). Although you may not expect it, I learnt a lot during this degree which I've taken into the creative sphere - most from my dissertation.
For a dissertation you must come up with an original idea to test and write about - just like you have to do in advertising. My dissertation was on how agricultural land is impacted by solar panels height- and therefore whether you can use the land to produce the same yield (pop me an email if you want to know more).
