A multidisciplinary designer, exploring new ways to create innovative luxury fabrics and surfaces for a range of applications, from fashion to automotive, through combining digital and handcrafted processes. Sophie has studied Textiles: Innovation & Design at Loughborough University, graduating July 2017. -Trend research for SAGE Europe segments, creating trend boards and creative presentation displays -Responding to design briefs from OEMs, meeting with OEM designers, development of design ideas -Development of designs for SAGE North America Style & Truck segments -Contributing designer to T4T global trend project, developing designs for samples and creating trend boards. Project presented globally to OEM's across the USA, Europe, and Asia. -Visit to North American International Auto Show in Detroit, working as part of a team to create a report and deliver feedback -Presenting to engineers and customer designers -Carrying out benchmarking reports and trend reports -Experience designing for an array of technologies, with an understanding of aesthetics for all car levels and feasibility requirements of each technology
Children’s wear Department -Excel administration for the Buying and Merchandising teams, working with ‘Range Planner' -Attending weekly trade meetings -Collecting, evaluating and ordering swatch samples from the M&S Colour Library -Completing ‘Comp-Shops’ -Organising and delivering colour tests -Creating visual boards for the Summer '15 collection for underwear and hosiery -Liaising with designers on colour palettes to co-ordinate with visual boards
Accessories / Home Departments -Microsoft Excel administration work -Sample tracking -Creating and sending sealing sheets to suppliers -Organisational tasks, including re-organising the archive of bags in the accessories department -Creating sample packs -Research into future trends and themes -Product development sketches -Research into specific details on items for the home department, e.g; fastenings and finishing
