I have particular interests in Editorial Design, Typography and Printmaking, with an eye for aesthetics, love for independent publishing and enthusiasm for writing. Collaboration is a key part of my work ethic, but I am also resourceful, and able to work and think independently. I am a good communicator, capable of working efficiently to tight deadlines and budgets. I enjoy hands-on, practical work, but I’m equally comfortable with digital production. I’m not afraid to roll my sleeves up and get stuck in.
Including event coordination, publication design, and printmaking. Clients include Citizen M hotels, John Lewis Heritage Centre and TBWA Media Arts Lab.
I work at Print Club part-time, running workshops and corporate sessions. Workshop clients have included Google, The Royal Academy of the Arts, Amy’s Kitchen, Somerset House and Google. I am responsible for managing workshop groups, teaching the screen printing process and assisting Print Club members. My role also involves ad-hoc studio work, such as assisting in the office with stock and organisation, as well as regular studio maintenance.
I am currently working alongside Danielle Pender (Editor) and Shaz Madani (Creative Director) to re-design and produce Riposte Magazine’s website, and extend the magazine’s online counterpart. The role so far has included the transfer of the old site contents, producing layouts and concepts for each page and extending the original single page feed into an online community. I also ran a printing session at the Issue #6 launch, and continue to assist at regular events hosted by the magazine.
Working in the catering and hospitality industry is something that has taught me a lot about personal interaction and communication, customer relations, and multi-tasking. I particularly enjoyed being part of a close-knit team, and during my time here I also produced promotional materials and helped to run charity events.
I managed the social media over the holiday period, working as publicity operator and producing design material to accompany the line of garments. I assisted in directing the photoshoot for the second collection of clothing and produced a video for the day.
Working as an intern has given me an insight into all aspects of running a small creative agency and gallery. My responsibilities were split between two major areas; The first area was project management, which included liaising with clients and assisting on events, pitching ideas and producing promotional materials. The second was acting as personal assistant, involving office management, organising the gallery archives, coordinating with designers and creators, as well as producing the online blog and web posts and conducting interviews with creatives. Clients I worked with whilst at Beach included Red Bull Studios, Everyman Cinema and Tokyo Fixed.
