I am an English Literature graduate living in London, currently working at Performing Arts, a busy Artist and Creative Management Agency. Past work has included working as Junior Publicist for a comedy PR company at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in London; Marketing and Publicity Officer at The Old Market theatre and Social Marketing Officer for STOMP, the West End hit. I also run my own business and work freelance on various projects. I am now keen to expand my experience and take on a more hands on role in theatre production. I am creative, hard-working with plenty of initiative and good communication skills.
JUNIOR AGENT / ADMINISTRATOR Since starting work for this small but busy agency and have been promoted from intern, to administrator to junior agent, recently taking on my own client. I am gaining vital insights into not only the way an artist’s agency works but also the theatre industry at large, from client management to contract negotiation. • Processing all contracts - proof reading, distributing for signatures, adding to a database and filing. • Client admin - taking availability checks, researching travel and accommodation, handling enquires. • Financial administration - processing all payments and paperwork for all client payments, invoicing and chasing payments from venues and companies. • Visa and international tax form applications for all international work. • All office admin from filing and responding to potential client applications to managing stationary.
I joined this comedy focused PR Company as an intern specifically for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and have now been taken on as a part time member of staff, assisting with the publicity and communication strategies for over twenty clients. Pre festival prep included liaising with local and national press to maximise publicity through features, interviews and show previews and assisting with office administration. Pitching features for comedians amongst the plethora of other comics vying for coverage needed a lot of creative, outside of the box thinking to ensure each client stood out and received the attention they deserved. When at the festival we worked every day to ensure maximum coverage, organising reviews, overseeing interviews, attending press events and liaising with artists, managers/agents and venue press offices to arrange diaries and tickets. Other tasks included searching for and cataloguing all coverage, managing contact databases and coverage reports. I was in a very small, intense team and together we achieved all of our goals, representing several award winning and nominated shows, one of which became one of the most talked about shows of the festival. Having worked every day for a month consistently and effectively to tight or sudden deadlines, I feel that I can take on any challenge in a high pressure environment.
