Heya! I'm Stefan. Firstly, let me say, that I'm not great at talking about myself, especially it's in third person (really, how do people do that). So I won't. I'm a Designer! I know what you're thinking, another designer. There's so many of us these days. But I like to think that I'm not restricted to one thing. If something needs designing, I'll brainstorm, design, scamp, photograph, or illustrate it. If something needs writing, I'll draft and write it. If something needs animating, I'll find the nearest animator. Look I've tried, it's hard. We all have flaws, I'll work on mine. Let's just move on... I returned home to Melbourne in July 2016 after two and a bit years working in the glorious city of London and began working as a Creative at Neonormal (formerly Carrspace) in Collingwood. Google them. They're incredible. Recently, I finished working with them and after booking a one way ticket, am now (for the moment) back in London town, who can't stay away, right? I'm always keen to expand my knowledge whether that be here in Australia or abroad, so please get in touch if you would like to talk all things design. I work damn hard at using my brain to make whatever brief I've been given or even task work. And I'm hoping that I will be given a chance to do that as I further my career! My full portfolio is available upon request, or a selection of my work can be viewed at www.stefanelias.com So that's me summed up, we're friends forever now.Locked Pro Plan feature
After returning from a 2 year stint in London, I joined experiential agency Neonormal. My role as a creative and mid-weight designer has seen me further develop my skill-set in all facets of design, be that from the concept and visualisation stage right up to environmental design and brand experience. Clients included Renault Australia, Infiniti, City of Melbourne, Sapporo, Coopers, Kronenbourg & Melbourne Racing Club.
Sitting in the core EE Brand Management team, in the wider Brand & Marketing Department, I worked alongside two Senior designers in a design team of 3. Working on an array of projects and genres, such as print, ATL & BTL, advertising, social media and user-experience design, I was able to take full ownership of briefs from concept to completion, whether that was upholding the brand identity and guidelines or working on the most recent nationwide network campaign. Also assisting with art and creative direction, with in-house EE teams as well as majority of external advertising agencies that EE work with. e.g. Tag Worldwide, Saatchi & Saatchi and Publicis Chemistry.
Whilst looking for a permanent role in London, I quickly seized an opportunity to take on a full-time position at Leyland SDM. I was brought on to predominantly re-brand and update their point of sale (POS) system that was rolled out across their 17 stores, however my role was extended further to work alongside the Junior Designer to create various advertising collateral, catalogues and social media graphics.
After initially moving to London, I completed a short stint at Cake as a freelance designer. Working with fellow Junior Creative and under the guidance of the Head of Design. Clients included Blu e-Cigarettes, Xbox and Sun Life Insurance.
Being exposed to a full-service marketing agency I was able to thoroughly develop and build my skill set as a graphic designer, which saw me become a Junior Designer after 3 months. I continued to work at Big Dog creating graphics for pitches and various briefs and for the last 6 months of my employment, worked directly underneath the guidance of Lead Event Director to design and create all print and web collateral for the three venues owned by Big Dog. Clients included Pawn & Co., Harry Juku's, Puma, Mother and General Store & Co.
Started off a 3-month internship with Big Dog Creative, undertaking various briefs whilst working under the guidance and mentor-ship of Senior Art Director.
Strong introduction to the world of social media as my first proper internship in graphic design. I worked with account managers and fellow in-house designer 2-3 days a week whilst still completing university in the production and execution of various briefs. Worked across a broad range of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Clients included Tetley Australia, Original Source, Moxie, Australia Cosmetics & Five:am Organic Yoghurt.
