Working for one day as a runner on Flog It, providing a friendly, enthusiastic experience for the public who turned up on the day to have items valued. I ensured the seating system was adhered to, and monitored the fluidity of crowd movement across the Minster. Other responsibilities included supplying refreshments to the off screen experts and research area, as well as answering questions/queries. I was also entrusted to wrap and log antiques for auction, taking pictures and labelling the items correctly.
During part of my time there, I took over some of my supervisor’s responsibilities while she was absent. This included answering/connecting calls, and using initiative and excellent communication skills to complete client objectives and email correspondences. I also offered general assistance to the office, as well as the CEO, COO and director of the company. Interaction and liaising with different seniority levels is something I am comfortable with. I was able to utilise my impeccable organisational skills with duties involving list taking, office upkeep and maintaining a schedule. There were several occasions where I was involved in high-pressure situations. One of which involved applying my IT skills by sourcing material from the company network in order to meet a deadline for a client.
I worked in the comedy/entertainment department. I assisted the runners and other team members by performing office duties: sorting DVD’s and their labels, assisting the development team, collecting paperwork from the printer, and minor researching jobs. During my time here, I experienced street casting, which again allowed me speak to a wide variety of people, demonstrating communication skills and impeccable manners.
Worked on three separate projects for the company during my time at university. One involved creating and editing a product video for Lucy Locket, the second a promotional video for the same business. The third entailed documenting a 10 week programme for recovering mental health patients.
Transcribed footage for the creative agency at their Nottingham office.
Worked on a filming day at St George’s Park in order to create a video for the FA Respect Campaign, which was aired at Wembley Arena. I was responsible for liaising with the various different football team representatives, ensuring the schedule was adhered to. The role required immaculate people skills, as well as listening to and carrying out instructions.
Responsible for communicating with the public in an attempt to secure and promote pre-orders for the air show DVD, which was filmed over the course of the weekend.
Volunteered with a collaboration of students for the filming of a dance show. Assisted the crew, making sure everyone had the correct equipment, re-charing batteries when required.
Guiding guests, answering questions/queries, problem solving and using initiative.
