About me
I’m passionate about food and drink, community and connection. I love restaurants and bars, and hotels, and the power they have to bring people together and to transform how they feel. I make things happen and I help people realise their projects. Working across magazines, charities, the music industry, academia and a host of side hustles, I’ve picked up a vast range of skills and experience including relationship management, project management, event planning and management. I do best when I’m surrounded by creative people, big thinkers who are excited by life and want to DO something. I’ve worked across all aspects of artist management and have developed and launched bands as well as managing the careers of already established acts. I am experienced in organising very intimate events through to large international events with an eye and handle on both the vision and the smallest of details. I have initiated and executed successful communication campaigns, the most recent being around the pivot of ACHS 2020 from an in-person to a fully virtual conference which resulted in a registration increase of 45%. I’m a “go-to” person and one of the things that stands out about me is my ability to get on with everyone. I don’t think you can have the varied career that I have (owning and running a market stall, supporting world-renowned academics, managing the careers of musicians) without picking up a few people skills, and relationship management is absolutely one of my core strengths. For the past 11 years I’ve been honing my organisational skills looking after two senior leaders within one of the world’s best universities. I’ve turned my meticulous attention to detail to seamlessly managing their diaries, emails and offices and have built a level of trust with them where they have felt able to pass large scale projects to me to oversee. I’m a published writer and have recently started my own website “A middle-aged Londoner” which features content by and for people in their middle-ages. I’m a seasoned cook, recipe writer and menu planner. I’m currently doing a Leith’s Professional course and plan to tackle wine next. I’m looking for a role that brings everything together now, making the most of my organisational skills in an industry that excites me. I always go over and beyond what is expected of me and it’s important to me to have an agile role which allows me to grow and develop and to think creatively.
