About me
Hi, I’m Sydney — a creative storyteller with experience in blogging, social media management, podcast production, and video editing. Currently working as a Junior Content Editor at The Content Emporium, I’ve loved growing my skills in digital content and communications within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. With a journalism and media background from both the US and UK, I bring a well-rounded, international perspective to every project. I'm now looking ahead to new opportunities from May 2025 onward — if you're looking for someone to bring energy, creativity, and strategy to your content, I’d love to connect!

    Junior Content EditorThe Content Emporium
    Bristol, United KingdomFull Time
As a Junior Content Editor at The Content Emporium, I played a key role in the 2024–25 Landsec Website Migration Project, contributing to the successful launch of 16 new websites now reaching a combined audience of over 300,000 viewers. My responsibilities included migrating and formatting content within Umbraco CMS, rewriting and adapting copy to align with SEO and brand tone, resizing imagery for optimal display, and creating original web content tailored to each site’s structure. I also supported user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure seamless functionality across pages and collaborated with designers by briefing in visual assets that matched brand guidelines. In addition to the website project, I produce digital content for various TCE clients across TikTok, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and local retail websites—crafting engaging, platform-specific copy to support audience growth and brand engagement.

    Week PlacementWalesOnline
    Cardiff, United KingdomInternship
I was on a week placement in February and June at the Wales Online office located in Cardiff where I wrote stories on Welsh politics, pop culture, and education. I shadowed Anna Lewis, the Content Editor, and learned the basics behind creating website layouts for published pieces and pitching ideas in commission meetings. I also provided production assistance on a voxpop with the News team that focused on the public's reaction to Welsh politics, which received 10,000 views on our Facebook channel.
