About me
Symonne Torpy discovered a flair for verse and prose at 16, when she dabbled in poetry, thought herself prolific, and wore berets. She eventually rebelled, literary style, and founded an anarchist newspaper, trumpeting critiques of her high-school administration and toeing the libel line. Despite audience acclaim, the publication folded when financial backers failed to emerge and printing costs confronted teen joblessness. Symonne’s later journalism career has been more successful. She has covered 6 seasons of Paris Fashion Week and the Festival de Cannes for Dash Magazine and Saks Fifth Avenue, and chronicled her life as a gay man trapped inside a woman’s body for Polari. She has also appeared as a guest writer with Mamamia, The Indian Economist and PAN Magazine. Australian by birth, Symonne relocated to Paris in 2013. Since then, she has designed the foundational building of the American University of Paris, managed a community of 29 global business schools and over 60 corporate partners, and given talks at Google HQ in Dublin. She currently works with Creative Spirit, a live digital agency at the forefront of event and brand management, with clients such as AXA France, Shiseido, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel de la Paix Geneva, Boston Scientific, and Cannes Lions.
