Measuring Technician

Sep 2014
  • Currently I am one of three Measuring Technicians at matchesfashion.com. Whilst I have been a measuring technician I have been enabled to get up close and personal with clothes and accessories from both world renowned brands and young new designers. Being so close to the garments has allowed me to study the design, pattern cutting and manufacture of the garments and has helped me build upon my previous garment knowledge. My responsibilities whilst being a Size and Fit measuring technician are: Ensuring that all Ready-to-wear and accessories across all departments are measured to a high level of accuracy. Ensuring the size and fit is communicated clearly to the customer. Communicating with the Senior Technical Product Specialist in order to ensure all measurements are complete before the product goes live on the website. Uploading measurements within a set time frame. Keeping in constant contact with the buyers and merchandisers.

Heritage & Gallery Assistant

Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery

Feb 2012 - Aug 2014
  • As a Heritage Assistant I work closely with the customers in different locations throughout the art gallery and museum. Working at the Castle gives me the opportunity to do many different tasks. The main tasks that I complete include answering the telephone; this lets me talk to a range of different people from all over the world dealing with important Castle issues right down to giving directions. Another task I complete is handling money and cashing up, allowing me to come into contact with such large amounts of money shows trust and responsibility. As a Gallery Assistant I work in various locations throughout the museum and galleries talking to members of the public about the art work and getting them involved in the exhibitions. Since being a Gallery Assistant I have met with many local and international artists discussing their work and have gained some incredible connections.
