Since graduating university, I have gradually built extensive experience in a number of communications roles, and feel a significant strength I would offer to any new role is the dynamic and varied communications experience I have accrued to date. In the past three years I have worked in the fields of music and live entertainment PR, as well as social cause communications, marketing and events, being fortunate enough to combine my interests with my working life. gaining crucial soft skills such as the ability to work well under pressure, be self-sufficient, and communicate effectively as well as hard skills like data analysis, copy-writing, and managing budgets. Most recently I have been working with the newly launched anti-food waste application - Too Good To Go - across all of their communication channels. This has involved a number of key responsibilities such as liaising with external agencies on creative work, presenting on the company at networking events, and producing all copy for marketing and tone of voice branding guidelines. Though I have enjoyed working within the social enterprise field, live entertainment is where I get my kicks both professionally and personally. I started my communications career after the year I spent as the music and entertainment editor for my university newspaper lead to internships, which subsequently lead to permanent roles, at Wasted Youth PR and Firm Music Group . There I was able to contribute to online campaigns, database management, copy-writing, social media management, and festival publicity. I was also lucky enough to undertake a 2 week internship within the BBC Eastenders Press Office. All of these roles took place in extremely busy and fast-paced environments and developed vital communications skills, such as writing for a range of audiences, attention to detail, and managing agencies regarding creative and other assets. Since developing my communication, events, and marketing skills in other roles, I have been itching to return to the industry since having to relocate in 2014. I have continued to pursue, however, entertainment marketing, PR and social media outside of my professional life on a freelance basis, most recently overseeing the debut album launch campaign for a local band in Yorkshire - Sandra’s Wedding - and managing their live schedule and social media on an ongoing basis.
