About me
I am graduate of Creative Writing (Poetic Practice), with a keen interest in researching and storytelling within Caribbean context. My writing is either intimate or broadly political. I often explore themes of environment, language and colonialism. So far, I have been published by the grace of PREE, Decorating Dissidence, Cave Hill Journal, National Poetry Library, Palette Poetry, Sweet Thang Magazine, among others. I am presently the Co-Founder of Juju Media Ltd - a creative agency offering exceptional communication services to brands and entities within the Orange Economy. As an artist, my ultimate vision is to create - through any medium - to best communicate my ideas of the world.

Better in The Bahamas: A Response to "On Skin and Sand"In 2017, I responded to the work of Edrin Symonette and Leasho Johnson with a poetic performance. Both artists developed individual projects that 'speak towards issues of gender constructs, masculinity and sexuality within a Black Caribbean context.' (NAGB, 2017). In my performance, I chose to veil myself in a sand-colored

Peeling: A Response to Edrin Symonette's “Residues of a Colonial Past”I was approached by artist and sculptor, Edrin Symonette, to write a poem in response to his latest installation and video “Residues of a Colonial Past”. Residues of a Colonial Past explores traditions, beliefs or structures left behind after colonization in The Bahamas (and wider Caribbean). Deconstructing the homebuilding process of, “quicklime and slacking”, Symonette constructs his own questions surrounding Bahamian identity and the affects of slavery. In speaking with Symonette, it was clea
  • Between The Times
Between The TimesThe purpose of this photographic project was for the launch of my website: taniciapratt.com. My vision was to create imagery that re-imagined 20th century Bahamian culture in modern times. Inspired by my 90's dancehall culture upbringing, and my grandmother's farming & straw vending background, my attire visually expresses my heritage and my poetic practice.
