I recently graduated with a First Class Honours in BA Management with Marketing from the University of Leeds and have since worked at two prestigious advertising agencies, BBD Perfect Storm and Wunderman. Alongside this experience, internships at high profile companies including Investec Specialist Bank, Elixirr and Gravity Global have provided me with commercial awareness across a range of industries and the necessary skills I can apply to diverse business situations. Combining the challenge of problem solving and strategic decision-making with real life concepts has attracted me to career in these industries. I am fascinated by the power of innovative and creative ideas as a mechanism for driving change and achieving corporate and business level objectives. I am also passionate about addressing social issues at both a local and international level. As an Enactus business mentor for Consulting You, I offered free consultation to local businesses in Leeds to support better decision-making and to build capabilities for sustainable success. I also founded The Ukuthemba Project, which acts to change the mentality towards sexual violence in South Africa through entrepreneurial action. This involved leading 27 team members and working together with our partners in South Africa to formulate a unique, sustainable and scalable strategy to transform and empower communities across the country to develop an intolerance to rape. I was recently awarded the Leeds Business School International Impact Award 2015/2016 for my role as project leader for The Ukuthemba Project.
