Project Sudan

  • In 2014, I co-founded Project Sudan, a charity project to improve the educational prospects of children in poverty in Sudan. We worked closely with a village school in Northern Sudan, and donated equipment to an orphanage in Khartoum. We raised funds in the UK from local Sudanese groups in London, as well a business sponsorship from Barclay's and private donors. The money was used to hire local builders to re-build the old damaged school, purchase stationary for the children and pay the school fees for families who were unable to. We also provided a week of assisted English lessons, teaching the children and working with the teachers to improve future classes.
