Managing the arts bookings and creative content experiences for the joint venture, Wilderness Festival since 2012, and working on each company’s independent festivals, Secret Garden Party in 2013 with Secret Productions and subsequently MAMA & Co’s Somersault, Lovebox and Citadel Festivals. Wilderness Festival is an award-winning 4-day festival of music, theatre, food, film and literary arts for all ages. Lovebox Festival is a celebration of the best of British and international music talent, dance and the arts. Citadel launched in Summer 2015 as a London day festival of music, comedy, theatre, sport days, and family fun. Responsibilities and Experience: • Researching, selecting, and managing content, tailored specifically to each festival’s ethos and demographic, relationships through from first contact to post-production. • Imagining and presenting new ideas, such as venues, themes, areas, immersive experiences and other new concepts via keynote and mood boards and playing a significant part in overall creative decision making for the festivals. • Working with the Marketing team to ensure content marketing is accessible, relevant and enticing. • Coordinating the logistical and production aspects of the venues, areas and spectacles, ensuring that every piece of information filters to the relevant team, whether site services, safety, creative or tech production. • Devising and management of the Creative Content budget, and P & L budgets for ticketed experiences. • Forging relationships with a range of content partners, cultural institutions, agencies, artists and collectives. • Overseeing the ‘Apply to Participate’ process and arts grants • Management of the Programming Team Coordinator and intern, and the entertainment team of artist liaisons and logistics officers on-site THE IMAGINARIUM May 2013 – December 2013 Devising the presentation, narrative and blueprints for this immersive series of Christmas events ‘The Imaginarium’ at Village Underground SECRET GARDEN PARTY 2013 December 2012 – July 2013 Award-winning, independent music and arts festival • Curating the ‘Black Cat Bar’ stage, a dark and surreal cabaret venue based on the Master and Margarita. • Sourcing and programming new high-end content partners and performance
SPEAKER ENGAGEMENTS AND WORKSHOP FACILITATION (on going) • The National Trust – facilitating workshops and presenting inspiring ideas to their Experience teams. • Clerkenwell Design Week 2014 – put together a 3 speaker panel and devised a talk and presentation called ‘Building Temporary Cities’ • Ideas Tap – part of 4 speaker panel at the Roundhouse on working in Festivals • Central St Martins – Speaker on their Experience Design Course CAFÉ ROYAL (January 2014 - July 2013) Arts & Culture Programmer Members Club at the infamous Café Royal • Planning a cultural calendar for Café Royal members with events that are the modern equivalent of the venue’s historic salons and parties. DAY OF THE DEAD FESTIVAL at the Old Vic Tunnels with Wahaca General Manager and Programmer (May 2012 – November 2012) General Manager and programmer of the Day of the Dead festival of food, music, art and film, an original and contemporary interpretation of the Mexican festival. Working on Wahaca’s behalf to produce the festival alongside NOMAD and the Mexican Embassy with headliners Rodrigo y Gabriela. It sold out at 3200 capacity. • Sourcing and booking all music and performance. • Project management of the festival, through to build, live and post-production. • Centralising communication between all the stakeholders. • Devising and managing the budget, predicated on ticket sales. • Collaborating on and coordinating the marketing and PR strategy.
