I am a creative individual who is passionate about film, music, fashion and art. My interest in fashion stems from skateboarding & streetwear, which along with youth culture has become a source of inspiration and re-appropriation for many contemporary designers. I keep up-to-date, attending Fashion Week, trade shows and press days as often as possible. My other interests include cycling, travelling, current affairs and photography. I am culturally aware and knowledgeable of the creative sectors and current trends, particularly fashion, film photography and music and I am experienced in developing client relationships, research, data analysis, buying, sourcing and creative direction. I am seeking opportunities within the creative industries to further career development in a creative environment.
My responsibilities at Jabong.com included: Supported the buyer sourcing and developing all woven categories across SS15 & AW15 with substantial creative input across all categories. Demonstrated and utilised my understanding of our customer profile and brand strategy. Ensured our brand was trend led and competitively priced with a strong brand image to compete with the 1500+ brands on the site. In conjunction with the designer, developed my eye for key trends and through seasonal mood boards. Responsible for the development process for all products; working with the buyer on design while ensuring that decisions made fit the season trend as well as the general customer profile. Coordinating sample sign offs and product deliveries. Supervising the studio on creative direction for product shoots. Liaising with the marketing team to ensure any content, online or print, was on brand. Reviewing products from brand adjacencies to ensure our seasons are viable for the customer base. As part of the London branch I was working with luxury brands such as Chloé, Prabal Gurung and Sergio Rossi as well as helping with various high profile events such as the Chloé: Attitudes book launch and the Kate Moss Playboy cover and 60th anniversary party, hosted by Marc Jacobs in Mayfair earlier this month. The internship provided me with an invaluable experience; working in both an office and showroom environment, meeting deadlines, completing press reports, analysing social media coverage, sending out samples and working between the publicists, brand representatives and press to make sure we met and aimed to surpass the clients expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed working with KCD, the experience gave me confidence and confirmed my desire to continue working in the fashion industry.
