I've been working as a copywriter for the past three years in and around London. I started off my freelance career working with an interesting array of start-ups: from those based in the fashion industry to new businesses in the tech sector, I've helped brands communicate their message to the outside world with my wordy know-how. I'm currently helping agencies and freelancers make the most out of their websites, blogs, portfolios and other miscellaneous documents. Many fail to realise that written text is just as important as the portfolios or past work examples they're displaying. That's where I come along with my notepad and pen, or rather the modern equivalent: my MacBook and Microsoft Word. I'm always on the lookout for new projects, so let's talk over Skype where I'll try to avoid any stereotypical British colloquialisms. Although I can't promise that, I can promise a hasty reply. Or, if you prefer emailing as opposed to screen-to-screen chatting, send me a message on LinkedIn and we'll figure out an appropriate plan of action.
Writing ad scripts for Fenwick, Battlecat! Studios, and Property.Works, collaborating with bespoke furniture-makers from Stockholm for their editorial campaigns, rewriting web copy for web design studios based in Colorado and Paris, writing blog posts for a diverse mix of companies, ranging from London-based coffee brewers to jewellery makers in the Scottish Highlands.
Creating/establishing brand tone and voice, writing SEO-friendly blog posts, linkbuilding/working with partners, analysing social and digital trends to convert to clicks for the website, launching Facebook and Twitter campaigns, copywriting (social media, competitions, emails, blog posts) and subediting material (emails and competition briefs) when asked. I originally started working for Adverdose as an intern, but after two months my role progressed into a full-time position.
