About me

My name is Thomas Quantock and I have just finished studying at London College of Communication. Here I studied Graphic & Media Design as well as pursuing several personal projects. I also decided while at uni to intern at CHAOS Creative Consultancy run by Charlotte Stockade and Katie Lyall. In my time spent at CHAOS I worked heavily on designing their first luxury accessory collection as well as working towards internal and external brand briefs. I feel working here really gave me a true understanding of the fashion/design world giving me the real understanding accepting rejection and a chance to see myself develop extensively with a meticulous eye for the smallest of details. Other than freelancing, my current line of work sits outside the world of design as I work for Paul Smith in Covent Garden. Having worked my way up the so called retail ladder with my first job at the local Co-op, I have had the opportunity to work with and serve a variety of characters that walk through the door. Working in big and small teams frequently has also allowed me to become a strong team player and has given me the confidence and ability challenge my own ideas as well as critiquing others. I am driven, determined and my desire to learn is huge, and I feel I would excel greatly in the position you present.

  • Moving from my hometown Margate I knew moving to the capital was the best place to base myself if I wanted to progress and make contacts within the world design. My time at LCC was incredible, with the personal briefs being more conceptually encouraging and requiring deep thought, while live projects were giving me my first insight into an industry where I could make my ideas a reality. During my time there I made it my own task to delve into as many graphic medias as possible, from animation to letterpress I have left uni being feeling well versed in many applications of design. Editorial design and typography really stood out for me during my studies as I had always had a deep passion for sign type and poster art. I found myself pushing that passion further into publication design which subsequently led me working as an art director in my final year on POORBOY magazine. University has been an amazing learning experience for me outside the industry, but now is time to make my mark, learn and develop into a professional of my practice.
